Some images possess a silent power, the ability to draw you in completely and invite you to feel something beyond words. The Blue Embrace is a symbolic reflection of comfort and one of the most cherished works in my archive. It is a visual poem where light and color meet to create a sanctuary for the mind.
There are moments when silence almost wraps itself around you. On the island of Rebbenesøya in Norway, I stood amidst the snow, feeling the cold air on my face as a herd of reindeer moved calmly past. My first photos were mostly documentary shots; I tried to capture everything, but I noticed my mind was still too full to be truly present. Gradually, as I became more attuned to the surroundings and the animals, my gaze softened. The images began to take on a gentle quality that reflected both the snow and the soft Arctic light.
This photo, which I have titled The Circle of Life, marks a turning point in my photographic development. Here you can see decayed leaves trapped in a thin layer of ice. The bloom has passed, and what remains is a phase of stillness. To me, they are frozen memories. They still carry their color, but the movement is gone, as if they have been captured in time.
