The Power of Presence: A Soft Return to What Matters

As the year draws to a close, I reflect on a season of movement, connection and change. November brought travel, inspiration and work, especially the Nature Talks Photo Festival and the Nature Photographer of the Year award ceremony. It felt intense yet meaningful, filled with inspiring talks, warm reunions and new encounters. Now, a gentle spaciousness returns.

Returning to the Netherlands, a Gentle Pause Between Chapters

In March, we will temporarily return to the Netherlands. This decision makes sense on a practical level, yet carries a quiet sadness. Norway has captured our hearts with its nature, silence, space and deep respect woven into daily life. By the time we move, we will have lived there for exactly two years. This transition invites reflection, a moment to listen inwardly and a chance to sense what wants to grow next.

Earth Method Card Deck, a Seed Taking Root

During my mentorship with photographer Diana Bokje, I initially planned a card deck focused solely on grief. A conversation with wildlife photographer Tin Man Lee during the Nature Talks Photo Festival reminded me to stay true to my own voice. That simple insight reshaped the project. The card deck now grows from the Earth Method, offering a gentle guide for slowing down, observing and reconnecting. Grief remains a thread, yet the intention is broader, focusing on mindful presence, reflection and grounding. It feels like the right moment to root Earth Embrace into a steadier rhythm.

One Year After Antarctica, Lessons in Presence

Revisiting my Antarctica photographs this year reminded me how rarely I have shared them. The vastness of that landscape continues to teach me about humility, stillness and attention. Awe is not something we chase. It arrives when we are truly present. In the coming year, I will work on a portfolio book from this journey together with Diana Bokje.

Earth Embrace Featured in National Geographic and Natur og Foto

I feel honoured to be featured in the latest issue of Natur og Foto magazine with an eight-page article on the healing power of nature photography. One of my images will also appear in the upcoming National Geographic calendar for 2026. These publications gently remind me that when we create from presence and sincerity, our work finds its own path.

If this resonates with you, I would love to stay connected. Join me on the Earth Embrace journey to explore how nature photography can nurture presence, reflection and calm in everyday life.

Warmly,
Nanda

Nanda Bussers is a visual artist and creator of the EARTH method for intuitive and healing nature photography. Her work explores the quiet connection between nature, presence and inner stillness. Each image is an invitation to pause for a moment, to breathe more slowly, and to reconnect with the natural world, yourself and the moments that often pass unnoticed.

Bringing the presence of nature into your space

My photographs are available as art prints through ArtHeroes and Werk aan de Muur in Europe, and as fine art prints via Fine Art America worldwide. Each piece is created to carry a sense of stillness and connection, whether it offers comfort, reflection or simply a quiet moment within a space.

In addition, I offer a selection of low-resolution images for more personal uses such as memorial or prayer cards. If you feel drawn to a specific image or would like guidance in choosing something that fits your space or intention, you are always welcome to get in touch.
