#59. Harvest of Stillness – On Dewdrops, Letting Go, and Quiet Strength

A photo for those in the middle of change

Some images speak to something universal.
This photo of a goatsbeard seed head, shimmering with morning dew, is one of them.

Friends and clients often tell me how it touches them — one friend even hung it above her dining table, as a daily reminder of stillness. At the Grønn Festival, it was chosen as a fine art print — taken home as a quiet anchor during a time of transition.

What do we see?
A fading seed head, not quite gone.
Held in a moment of silence.
Still full of life, still catching light.

I made this photo during one of my workshops, in early autumn.
For me, it felt like a visual closing of the year —
a soft harvest of stillness.

And maybe that’s why the image resonates:
it speaks of endings, of letting go — and of the beauty held within that.

Why this image belongs in my work

My photography is not just about aesthetics.
It’s about presence. About creating space — especially for those navigating inner storms.

For people experiencing:

  • grief or loss

  • burnout or emotional overwhelm

  • life transitions that stir everything up

...images like this can offer something words often can’t: recognition, a breath, a moment of calm.

That’s why I integrate them into my work:
🧭 In workshops and coaching, we pause with images like this to reflect on what’s ending — and what wants to emerge.
🧭 They become part of visual journaling, guided exercises, and nature-based rituals.
🧭 And soon, they’ll be available as cards and fine art prints — gentle reminders for your home or practice space.

A Quiet Invitation to Feel

The seed head is almost open.
A symbol of release — but also of readiness.
Of what has been lived — and can now rest.
Of grief — and beauty. Side by side.

Perhaps you too are standing in a space between.
Between what was and what’s next.
Between knowing and not-knowing.

Then this photo is not just a picture.
It’s a quiet invitation:
To feel. To let go.
To soften.
And — in your own time — to begin again.

Nanda Bussers is a visual artist and creator of the EARTH method for intuitive and healing nature photography. Her work explores the quiet connection between nature, presence and inner stillness. Each image is an invitation to pause for a moment, to breathe more slowly, and to reconnect with the natural world, yourself and the moments that often pass unnoticed.

Bringing the presence of nature into your space

My photographs are available as art prints through ArtHeroes and Werk aan de Muur in Europe, and as fine art prints via Fine Art America worldwide. Each piece is created to carry a sense of stillness and connection, whether it offers comfort, reflection or simply a quiet moment within a space.

In addition, I offer a selection of low-resolution images for more personal uses such as memorial or prayer cards. If you feel drawn to a specific image or would like guidance in choosing something that fits your space or intention, you are always welcome to get in touch.
