#75. Healing Through Nature Photography: A Journey Between Stillness and Change

A gentle encounter in the Arctic winter. Available as Fine Art print.

The year 2026 began in a way I had not planned, but perhaps exactly as I needed. In the far north of Tromsø, surrounded by dancing auroras and the soft, magical light of the Arctic winter, I found myself in a gentle pause. It was a moment of stillness between what was and what is yet to come.

The Mirror of Nature

As I prepare to return to the Netherlands after years of calling Norway home, I find that nature photography has become more than a profession. It is my compass and my refuge, a way of listening to the world when life takes an unexpected turn.

Living among wide landscapes and shifting seasons has taught me that nature deeply mirrors our inner world. Over the past weeks, as we prepared to say goodbye to beloved friends and the rugged beauty of Norway, I often turned to my camera.

Nature photography is a way of slowing down. It transforms looking into seeing, and seeing into feeling. When life feels unsettling, the rhythm of the seasons offers a gentle invitation to trust the process. Just as the Arctic winter eventually gives way to the light, our own periods of transition require time and space to unfold.

Finding Wonder in the Silence

While grand travels, from the Lofoten Islands to the upcoming Antarctica project, nourish my soul, I have learned that healing often arrives in subtle, mindful moments.

Inspiration is abundant if we choose to see it. Think of the intricate geometry of ice crystals, the deep turquoise of frozen lakes or the soft, muted colors of a winter forest at dawn. These small encounters hold surprising depth. They remind us that we do not always need grand gestures to find on our own way back to ourselves. Through the lens, each image becomes a space for reflection rather than explanation. It is this philosophy that forms the heart of Earth Embrace and the EARTH-Method.

Moving Forward with Intention

The return to the Netherlands is a significant change, but it also creates room for new roots to form. Last year brought wonderful creative milestones, from launching my first online masterclass to having my work selected for the National Geographic Exhibition and Calendar. These moments of recognition are beautiful, but the true reward remains the connection with like minded people who also seek the healing power of nature.

In 2026, I will deepen my focus on the EARTH Method, my upcoming book and the creation of a card deck. These projects are not separate from my journey. They are an evolution of it.

An Invitation to Pause

Whether I am standing on the deep ice of the north or navigating the transition of moving boxes, the mission remains the same.
I want to use photography as a bridge to stillness and healing.

Thank you for traveling alongside me, through images and reflections. I hope that wherever you find yourself today, you can find a moment of beauty and connection, even if life has taken a turn you did not expect.
